What some of our students are saying...
Hi Ryan, You did a wonderful job with Jacob. I remember the first day we came to the 4/4 School. He was ready to quit playing and I encouraged him to just give the first complimentary lesson a try. He went in very skeptical and come out so excited. I believe his words were, "That was awesome! Ryan is a beast!" :-) Now he plays for hours on end every day. He is constantly learning how to play new songs and talks about starting a band. It is really great to see him become so passionate about something and a lot of that was because of you. So thank you so very much for all the time you spent with him. ~ Victoria
We just got back from a family vacation and there in our pile of mail was the DVD of Martin and I performing at the Winter 2006 concert. I was pleased with our performance. I was pretty darned nervous, but have to admit that Martin and I sounded good for having only seriously taken lessons for about four months. Can’t wait for the next recital. Ha!

Hello - I just wanted to send you a note to let you know how much we enjoyed the concert. It meant so much to my kids to be able to perform, they were very nervous about it but so excited as well... I know my son felt pretty cool performing along with boys that were much older than him. His interest in practicing has greatly increased because of it as well. Thanks again
Tammie Kelly
We are very happy with the progress Evynne has made with Aaron - He is great!

Zach is progressing at an alarming rate and I’m sure it is due to Steve’s way of encouraging him and making him feel like he is Steve’s only pupil. A very special thanks to your organization and especially to Steve for creating an environment which makes students want to learn music. I am very impressed and extremely thankful

We think you are an awesome music mentor! Kevin honestly loves coming to you. It is the only thing he does outside of school that I don't have to badger him about.

I look forward to my lessons every week! Your patience and flexibility makes things easy and fun.
After 4 guitar teachers I'm finally learning! Don't change a thing…

I've learned a lot. You put up with me, which is amazing. I'm not always the most dedicated person when it comes to practicing, but I always learn a handful of new things. I'm glad you don't use the "intimidation method" of teaching. You understand we don’t have all the time in the world for guitar.
You are one of the best music teachers I have ever had. We learn a lot from you, but you also seem to try to relate to us. From music styles to bands, or even other activities.

Glowing praise for a praiseworthy teacher:
As a student of yours, I was most impressed by your comprehensive approach to musicianship. You understand that teaching a student to become a good musician is not just about showing him/her how to play through songs. The program balances technique ("how to play your instrument") with instruction in musical elements such as rhythm and dynamics ("how to make your playing even better!"). The program includes lessons in music theory and exposure to a variety of musical genres, which enables students to play songs by reading tablature AND by ear, to find and develop their own playing style, and even to compose their own music. And to make it all easier for your students to remember and study, You have worksheets, charts, diagrams, checklists, and loads of other printed material to reinforce the lessons.
I greatly appreciated your flexibility as my teacher continuously incorporated my feedback into his lessons to ensure that I could progress at my own pace. He also knows the importance of having fun!

It scares me to remember I had three phone numbers when I called you. (I tossed the other two after the first lesson.)
Thank you.

"You showed me that singing isn't as difficult as I thought it was. Now I can sing any song I want to, no matter how difficult. And I took less than 6 months of lessons - of course, YMMV (your results may vary), but you know just how to help people to get to where they want to be vocally. And my teacher is also a very positive, motivated person, which tends to be infectious, and that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned!"

Concerning her daughter, Grace...
"Thank you for your patience with her. You are making an impression on her that goes beyond music!"

Greetings,
Thank you so much for being such a terrific teacher and friend to Griffin,
he has really enjoyed all that he has learned from you!
Always,
Nancy Plenert
Your music program rocks!! I've learned more than what I thought I could have learned and in a short amount of time. Your teaching techniques are killer!
Mike Yaley
I really appreciate your help and teaching, I learned more from you in a few lessons than any music teacher I have had, and in as many lessons no one has taught me as much.
Chris Schroader
I feel the way you conducted lessons was very helpful and productive. Instead of criticizing, you gave me feedback on my skills objectively and helped me understand how I could improve more effectively. The gradual way you built up from easy to more difficult songs and exercises kept me at a good pace. I learned a great deal from you and received an "A" on my senior project presentation! Thank you for your help. Good luck with your school of music.

THE MUSIC SCHOOL,
MY WIFE WAS TOTALLY SURPRISED AND LOVED MY SINGING TO HER. SHE AND HER MOTHER WERE BOTH IN TEARS. THE OTHER 18 PEOPLE APPLAUDED, THE WAITER SAID "THAT WAS AWESOME" AND MANY PEOPLE ACKNOWLEDGED MY "COURAGE". MY ASSESSMENT WAS A LITTLE HARSHER THOUGH. THE TIMING WAS OKAY, BUT PITCH WAS LEFT BEHIND IN THE EMOTION.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP. IT HAS BEEN A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND YOU WERE AN INCREDIBLE INSTRUCTOR.
SINCERELY,
JOE ALBERT
