Piano lessons aren’t what they used to be! No more boring piano lessons. Our piano teachers keep things moving along and make each lesson fun. Children, teens and adults find our school’s relaxed atmosphere refreshing. We are here to help you learn your favorite songs and everything else about music!

Children require special attention as they have so much energy. Our piano teachers get that and use stickers and other prizes as well as constant positive encouragement to keep the young ones motivated and having fun. The more fun the have, the more the will want to practice piano. The more they practice the better they get. The better they get, the more they want to play. When you have a modern piano teacher, a modern teaching method and songs you love, you won’t want to stop playing!

Piano Lessons Bellevue, WA | Piano Teachers and Tutors

Where are you located?

We are conveniently located at the corner of Main Street and 148th Ave SE in Bellevue, Washington.  We are in the same shopping center as Walmart Neighborhood Market.

Do you teach kids piano at the 4/4 School of Music location in Bellevue?

Yes! We have excellent teachers that can teach your child piano or keyboard. Some of our teachers can teach them how to sing as well.

Do you offer piano lessons for teens and adults as well?

For sure! Many of our students are in high school or are adults wanted to improve their piano skills or start taking lessons as a complete beginner. We welcome students of all ages and levels!

Do I need to own a piano to take piano lessons?

No. Not for your first lesson. After that you will need to have a least an inexpensive electronic keyboard at home to practice on. We can help you find one if you wish.

At your first lesson, even before you have a keyboard or a piano, you’ll get to know your teacher and learn the basics. Your teachers will ask you what your favorite type of music is and if you have any favorite songs you wish to learn. Then you can work towards learning the techniques you’ll need to perform those songs! It usually doesn’t take very long if you are practicing daily.

What does someone learn during a typical piano lesson?

In a typical 30 minute lesson, you will probably work on at least these three things...Warm-ups or techniques, current song(s) that you enjoy playing, and new concepts (rhythm, theory, new songs, etc).

How much should a child practice piano each day?

This will probably depend on their age and how many songs they are working on. Of course the more the better! Using repetition can be a useful technique. If the child has two songs they are working on, have them play each song 4 times through each day. This is usually more effective than asking them to practice for 30 minutes. That just makes them stare at the clock. But kids love to achieve goals so if you ask them to play each song 4 times they are far more likely to stay focused.

Which days and times do you offer piano lessons in Bellevue?

Piano lessons are taught by appointment in the afternoon, evenings and weekend. Please call or email us for exact lesson times that are available right now.

How young can a child start taking piano lessons?

We recommend that students be around five years old or older. Children younger than five have a hard time focusing and usually do better with something like Kindermusik or MusikGarten. Those type of classes are more about fun, socializing and playtime. Private lessons are fun but the emphasis is on learning to play the piano one-on-one with a professional piano teacher.
