Most students take weekly half-hour, private lessons to maximize their learning speed.  One hour guitar lessons are also available but generally are only necessary for advanced level students. An excellent teacher will help you choose and learn songs that you enjoy and are not too difficult for your level.

A complete guitar lesson should include at least one of your favorite songs as well as the notes of the fingerboard, rhythm, soloing, theory, songwriting, etc.
