When are you open at the Newcastle school?
We teach music lessons by appointment in the afternoon and evening on weekdays. At busy times
of the year we also offer music lessons on Saturdays from 10am to 5pm. Since all music
lessons are by appointment there may not be anyone at the school that can speak with you as
we are usually with students. Please call us with any questions you may have about our music
school or to schedule lessons.
How do I say the name of the school?
4/4 School of Music is pronounced Four Four School of Music. 4/4 is a time signature in
standard music notation. When we first started the school we were trying to choose a name
and wanted one that was memorable. We had a list of ten names written on a piece of paper.
We then showed it to many of our early students for about 30 seconds then took the paper
back from them. Then we asked them "Which name do you remember?" They all remembered 4/4 so
that is the name we decided to go with. Many people mistakenly say Four by Four School of
Music but it is really just Four Four School of Music.
